Rising Currents

We’ve just come across this and fortunately it’s not too late! Now through October 11, 2010 the Museum of Modern Art in New York City will be presenting Rising Currents: Projects for New York’s Waterfront. A totally cool and comprehensive short list of high-caliber projects actively mining local NYC ecology to save the city in the event of rising sea levels. It’s fascinating, awe inspiring and a little frustrating that we’ve only just discovered it. Shame on us. So if you’re out in the NYC area between now and middle October definitely swing by. We’re gonna check in out in September. Read more about Rising Currents in Design Observer, a much more thorough posting than we could muster at this point.

The show is on display at MoMA with a separate additional ticket price. The MoMA PS1 annex was used by the designers for a period of time to develop the work, don’t be confused.
